About Melanie

Melanie With MEdalMelanie Banville is a member of the Canadian Women's Gymnastics National Team that won a silver medal at the recent 2003 Pan-Am Games in Santo Domingo. Canada's Women's Gymnastics Team has will be competing at the upcoming Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Recently Melanie placed 2nd overall at the 2003 Canadian Championships (1st in Vault, 1st in Uneven Bars and 1st in Floor).

Melanie trains at the Ottawa Gymnastics Centre where she is coached by Tobie Goreman and Lori Iurello.

Melanie has an older sister, Natalie, and a twin brother Eric who is also a gymnast. Eric finished 11th all-around at the 2000 Canadian Championships in the Under-16 category. Her parents are Christine and Gerry.
