Guy Lauzon was elected as Member of Parliament for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry in June 2004, having run on a platform of economic development. Since then, Guy has led a group of business and community leaders and elected officials in an initiative to revitalize the waterfront of Cornwall and other communities in the riding.

As Member of Parliament, Guy has also pitched Cornwall as an economically ideal location for federal government offices, and he is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for post-secondary education in this area.

Before being elected to Parliament, Guy was a leading fundraiser for local charitable and community projects, including Cornwall's new aquatic centre. He also chaired the organizing committee for Cornwall's highly successful Canada Day celebrations in 2003 and 2004.
