The real host with the most

Jamie Carr is a busy man who is juggling a family, job and now a second career as the voice to Come Dine with Me Canada.

The show has returned for a second season with local radio host Jamie Carr providing witty, tongue-in-cheek comments throughout the show.

"I was super excited," he said.

Carr travels to Toronto once a week by train to tape a four-hour voiceover for the show, then returns to Cornwall.

"My wife has been incredible with it. I wouldn't be able to do it without her," he said.

Because of the huge success of the previous season, W Network will be broadcasting double the number of shows this season, from 40 to 80 episodes.

"The people on the show are a little crazier. They've seen the people last year and they think 'I can do that,'" Carr said.

This year, the show will also have a variety of holiday specials for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah and Diwaili.

"Last year was just kind of a taste. This year we've pulled out all the stops," explained Carr.

"We were trying to figure out what the Canadian identity is and this year, I think we did."

Come Dine With Me Canada is based on the the U.K. sensation, Come Dine With Me, in which five guests invite a group of strangers into their home to serve them a home-made meal and at the end of the night, the guests rate the experience, including the meal.

Each guest will take turns playing host in their own homes until everyone has had a turn.

After the final guest has served their meal, the scores are tallied up and the host who scored the highest wins $1,000 and the title "the Host with the Most."

The first episode has already aired but is available to watch online at www.wnetwork.com/Shows/comedinewithmecanada.aspx.

Come Dine With Me Canada airs every Monday at 7:30 p.m. on the W Network.
