Cornwall Commercial to Run on TSN Sunday
Cornwall’s national profile will receive a boost this weekend as a new commercial promoting the
City airs on TSN.
The new commercial is titled ‘This is our Cornwall’ and features a number of positive messages
aimed at both new residents and new businesses. The spot ends with Mayor Bob Kilger
exclaiming “This is our Cornwall… make it yours!” as he drives past Lamoureux Park in the
Choose Cornwall truck.
“Increasing Cornwall’s profile nationally is a key element of our marketing plan”, said Bob
Peters, Senior Development Officer with the City of Cornwall. “This commercial features
interesting images of Cornwall people and businesses that will hopefully ignite a desire to learn
more about the City. It is the first time a commercial promoting Cornwall has been aired on
national TV.”
TSN is broadcasting the Final Game of the RBC National Junior A Hockey Championships at
1:00 pm on Sunday May 11th, 2008. The Cornwall commercial will air 4 times over the
broadcast.
Ad will also air on TVCOGECO and HOCKEYCANADA.CA on Saturday
The ad will also air on TVCOGECO’s live broadcast of the RBC Cup semi-final games on
Saturday, May 10th. The games will be broadcast on COGECO systems throughout Ontario
including Smiths Falls, Brockville, Kingston, Belleville, Oakville, Burlington, Halton Region,
Muskoka Region, Windsor and Cornwall. The TVCOGECO feed is also webcast on Hockey
Canada’s website which has received 8000 visits since the tournament started.
The commercial features a number of images of Cornwall homes, people, scenery and events like
Lift-Off, a popular music/hot air balloon festival held each July. Local artist Tracy-Lynn
Chisholm is featured in the commercial, as is SigmaPoint Technologies, a local hi-tech company.
Background music was supplied by Cornwall recording artist Graham Greer from the song
“Buttercup” which will be featured on his new CD. Local radio personality Sue Stewart supplied
the narration and the commercial was produced by Kevin Lamoureux of KAV Productions.
The Choose Cornwall truck featured in the ad is one of two Seaway Express trucks, and was a
joint project by Team Cornwall and Seaway Express owner Bob Gauthier.
The commercial directs people to learn more about Cornwall by visiting the Choose Cornwall
website at www.choosecornwall.ca. The Choose Cornwall website offers information on a
variety of factors, including housing prices, employment opportunities and doing business in
Cornwall.
Cornwall has garnered a lot of interest lately from baby boomers and young families looking to
relocate to a more affordable community. Interest from business investors is also high, as the City
continues to work on a number of development and revitalization projects.

The commercial will also be viewable online on a number of websites over the next week or so,
including popular worldwide websites such as YouTube
