EODP Funding Announced
The Eastern Ontario Development Program received has received new funding for 2008, and Cornwall companies and organizations are eligible for funding under several different parts of the program.
“The Eastern Ontario Development Program and the Community Futures Program are two vital components of our plan to promote economic development in Eastern Ontario,” said Guy Lauzon, Member of Parliament for Stormont–Dundas–South Glengarry and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for FedNor.
The Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP) is an economic development initiative first announced by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in August 2006, aimed at addressing socioeconomic challenges in rural Eastern Ontario. Locally, the EODP will be administered by the SDG Community Futures Development Corporation in Cornwall. The program will invest in a wide range of projects within five key economic development priorities:
- business and community development;
- access to capital;
- skills development
- retention and attraction of youth; and
- technological enhancements
Applications must be submitted on or before Friday, April 11, 2008 by 4:30 PM. Information on the program, including application guidelines and forms, can be found on the SDGCFDC website at
