Golf Tournament Raises $23,000

The final tally has been announced, and a total of $23,000 was raised at the recent Team Cornwall Mayor and Council Golf Tournament.
$16,000 will be split equally between the Agape Centre and Team Cornwall, to offset the operating costs of both organizations. In addition, the Agape Center was the recipient of two generous corporate donations - $5000 from Cornwall Electric, and another $2000 from Kraft Foods.
Under beautiful sunny skies at Summerhieghts Golf Links, 144 golfers participated in the tournament, which was supported by a record number of corporate and individual sponsors.
The Agape Centre is a non profit organization that is open to help people in our community. Its three main programs are the Food Bank, Soup Kitchen and a Thrift Shoppe. With the support of the community the Agape Centre is able to ensure that no family goes hungry, cold, or without any of their basic necessities of life.
In addition to the funds raised, a food drive collected over 300 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Food Bank.
