CJOH to Broadcast Live from Kinsmen Cornwall Lift-Off 2007
 The Board of Directors of Kinsmen Cornwall Lift-Off are pleased to announce that CJOH will be broadcasting live from the Hot Air Balloon launch field on Thursday, July 12 at 6:00pm.
“This will be the first time in Lift-Off’s eleven year history that there will be a live broadcast from the park,” reported Festival Chair Chris Savard, “It just goes to show how much the festival has grown from our modest beginnings in 1994.”
The segment will be broadcasted by Max Keeping, long-time anchor of the CTV 6:00 News. Keeping has several ties to Cornwall, including membership to Team Cornwall, a group of community leaders that act as goodwill ambassadors for the City. “I’ve had the fortunate experience of working with Max before and I know that his presence will help draw even more people to the park to experience Cornwall’s premier summer festival!” exclaimed Gilles Latour, Chair of Team Cornwall and Director of Fundraising for Kinsmen Cornwall Lift-Off.
Come on out to the Hot Air Balloon launch field located in Lamoureux Park directly beside the RCAFA Wing on Thursday, July 12 at 6:00 PM. Whether you plan on experiencing life above the Seaway Valley in a hot air balloon or feel more comfortable tapping your toes to our entertainment package show your support and Lift-Off spirit and you might just catch yourself on the 6:00 News.
Cornwall Lift-Off was founded in 1994 and has since hosted back-to-back Canadian National Hot Air Balloon Championships in 1996 and 1997. The success of the festival has grown considerably from modest beginnings in 1994. This year, an exciting assortment of live entertainment and fireworks will compliment the arrival of 20 hot air balloon teams. This year’s festival will be held July 12-15th in Cornwall’s scenic Lamoureux Park and it is anticipated that the 2007 festival will attract between 50,000 to 55,000 spectators from Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec and Northern New York State.
