Cornwall was invited to Calgary by Hockey Canada to make a presentation regarding its bid to host the 2008 RBC Royal Bank Cup. This is the National Championship for the Cornwall Colts, who initiated the bid.

Cornwall transformed its presentation room to create a unique Cornwall focus. Six large full colour banners dominated the room, displaying various scenes from the Complex and Lamoureux Park.

The Cornwall presentation included a short video and powerpoint presentation that showcased Cornwall and the Civic Complex as an ideal event location.

The presentation was a co-operative effort between the City of Cornwall, Cornwall and Seaway Valley Tourism and the Cornwall Colts.

A decision by Hockey Canada announcing the host city is expected at the end of May. Three other communities bid on the 2008 event: Camrose, Alberta; Kindersley, Saskatchewan; and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
